During the INTERSCHUTZ trade fair in Hanover, a number of vehicles fitted with ESTEPE modifications, specifically designed for forest fire-fighting vehicles, were on display. Various bodybuilders presented these vehicles with their bodywork for this specific market segment.
ESTEPE can modify MAN TGM vehicles to ensure they comply with the standardised approach and departure angles, enabling them to manoeuvre effectively off-road. In addition, we can fit heat protection to the vital cables and hoses so that they can withstand a temperature of 130 degrees for at least 10 minutes.
ESTEPE can also fit a roof hatch in roof of the cabin. A roof hatch allows firefighting operations to be carried out from the vehicle’s roof.
By fitting the tyres with a tyre pressure regulation system, it is possible to adjust the tyre pressure to suit the terrain or surface being driven on. An emergency ring can also be fitted to the wheels so that the vehicle can continue to be driven, even with a flat tyre. This is particularly important for safety should the situation become precarious.
These optional modifications provide a solid basic configuration for deploying the vehicles in the event of forest or vegetation fires across various terrains. Vehicles fitted with these modifications have been very well received in the market and are already in service. For further information, please contact your MAN dealer or get in touch with ESTEPE.
